Ruby is a very special girl who has been through a lot. She lived in a home for 8 months, where she had a Cavalier Kind Charles Spaniel as a companion. Unfortunately, Ruby became ill and after several visits to their Veterinary Surgery without a diagnosis as to what was causing Ruby to be ill, her owners felt they could not cope and so they returned Ruby to us.
Soon after Ruby arrived back with us here at Castledon, I arranged for Ruby to be seen by a specialist at The Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. After several visits/stays in the hospital we got a diagnosis - Ruby has Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

IBD is not curable it is controlled by diet & medication.

Since Ruby's diagnosis & treatment she is doing great - you would not know she has anything wrong......... she is a very happy girl now she feels well again, which is the most important thing. Its so lovely to see her happy!

Ruby is a sweet natured girl & gets on well with other dogs. She will make a truly lovely, loyal pet to the special person that adopts her & gives her the life she deserves.
She is timid with people she does not know, but once she knows & trusts you she is very affectionate & will soon become your best friend!

She is fully house-trained, excellent in the car (must have been all those long drives to Newmarket!!) & absolutely loves her walks - especially in the local forest where she can smell lots of Rabbits!!

Whoever adopts Ruby will always have the backup of the Animal Health Trust for any help/advice if ever needed.

Ruby is just waiting for her special person to come along now.....
