We already had Jennie, a Jack Russell, when
we approached Jodie and Sandra to adopt a
greyhound some eight and a half years ago.
They chose Ben, who was three years old, to
join our family and he has been our 'gentle
giant' ever since. At the time we also had
another greyhound called Khan. Ben, Khan
and Jennie lived very happily together until
sadly Khan died a year ago(aged 11 years).
After a period of 6 months we again
approached Jodie and Sandra with a request
to adopt another greyhound. This time they
chose Sasha, a 3 year old bitch. Once again
Sasha has joined our family and the three
dogs are living happily together. Sasha loves
life and is so loving and intelligent. We
cannot express how wonderful these dogs are
as family pets and please consider giving
a retired greyhound a loving home to live
the rest of their lives in comfort, because
they so deserve it.

Having adopted Joey before he had time to settle
at Castledon, he has taken about two months to
settle in completely. Every time someone comes
to the gate or door we believe he thinks they
are coming to take him away and he barks, but he
is now well used to the family and greets us
with a wagging tail & chattering teeth whenever
we have been out. He loves the garden and spends
lots of time running around and barking ar
anyone who dares to walk past, accompanied by
Gemma, our German Shepherd. Joey gets on well
with Gemma and he has recently begun to play
with her and the dog toys around the garden. He
has been given two brand new toys and a chew
bone or two which he has hidden in the garden
immediately, never to be seen again!! He makes
us laugh with his antics and receives many
admiring glances and comments from our visitors
and strangers in the street. We all love him to
bits and are enjoying watching a working dog
becoming a member of the family - and hope he is
loving every minute of his retirement.

I have had 8 year old Millie for about 3
months and she is a very loving companion -
cheeky but very obedient. She loves her
early morning walks to the fields - as i do
- and laying in the garden.
She has taken over the bungalow (with my
permission!) and sleeps where ever she
chooses!

We adopted Dudley & Ella (who are Brother &
Sister) seven months ago....
Two Greyhounds really are better than one!
Since we adopted Dudley & Ella our lives
have changed completely. They have settled
in really well & have found their feet.
Basically they have taken over the place,
which we dont mind at all!
They are great companions both to each other
& to us. So therefore, two are better than
one!!

We
got Alfie just over 4 months ago and he is a
bundle of fun. He has changedour lives
completely. He sleeps on his back with his legs
in the air and sometimes dreams. He is just the
right dog for us seeing as he is a softy. If he
sees a fly buzzing around the room he will chase
it around the room snapping his teeth trying to
catch it. He has a mad 5 minutes where he will
run around
the room like mad!! We can't imagine life
without Alfie now. So thank you
Jodie and Sandra for helping us re-home Alfie
and good luck re-homing more
greyhounds.

We arranged to visit the kennel after the
usual home checks and instead of us
supposedly picking a Greyhound it turned out
we most definitely was picked by Daisy.
She settled into home life with us and our
three children from day one. She loves
sleeping, stealing shoes and digging holes
in our lawn. Daisy is loving and
affectionate and we couldn't bear life
without her, now if I can just convince my
husband about having a second one...........
Thank you
Jodie & Sandra for allowing us to have this
wonderful 'grey' who gives my family so much
pleasure and yes my Husband is now smitten.

Tess
came to us a few months ago after being chosen
for us by Jodie as we had a cat at the time.
She is a lovely dog and is very nosey! She looks
over garden fences on our walks!!
Tess settled in very quickly and has been no
bother from day one. We all love her to bits.
Thanks Jodie and keep up the good work.

Katie came to us last year from Castledon
kennels & took over the Household! She's a
gorgeous girl, a real darling & full of herself!
She gets her own way with all of us & our old
boy, Damien, dotes on her. Our Katie does enjoy
breakfast in bed!
Damien our darling boy came from Castledon, 4
years ago. He's the gentlest, kindest lad and
now at 12yrs old still likes to play with his
toys - just an elderly pup!
Damien & Katie are always ready for a trip out
in the car, even when its just parked outside!

This
is George our lovely greyhound.
All those surprises in a new home - he took them
in his stride, but he became very excited when
he saw cats and squirrels in the local park – up
on his back legs squeaking - being a large
strong dog he was often difficult to hold. We
learned to spot cats at 50 yards! However, with
patience and practice over the last year, he is
now happy to watch them, sometimes he gives a
squeak to make sure we have seen them too, but
nothing more - even when they run away! Our
walks are much more fun now.
He also loves a run in the car
And then he loves to chill
Thanks Jodie and Sandra, from a happy hound.

Jodie & Sandra,
We thought it was about time we sent you some up
to date pictures on of Prince for you to include
on your Happily Homed page.
We first thought about getting a Greyhound last
year, and having looked on the internet, came
across Castledon Kennels. We rang Jodie & Sandra
and they came to see us first of all, then we
went to the kennels..
We chose 'Knockstar Prince' to give him his full
title or Prince, Mr Prince or Princy boy as we
call him! He has settled in really well to
homelife. We have had him 6 months now and he
gets on well with our other dog ''Jess'' a
Border Collie. Most of the time Prince is asleep
on his bed or the settee - we can quite see why
they are called ''couch potatoes''. He loves
going for walks though, and is quite happy with
other dogs and loves human attention. We haven't
yet found anything he doesn't like or is afraid
of. He is very laid back about everything and
really docile. He rarely barks and when he does
get excited he sort of howls or yelps but this
doesn't last for long as its all too much
effort. He has given us some good laughs and is
quite a character, having destroyed toilet rolls
and kitchen towels and cuddley toys if can find
any. But these are his only vices.
We would certainly recommend having a Greyhound,
they make lovely pets.
