Greyhound Walks Show
On
Sunday 27th April, Castledon were
invited to have a stool at the first ever
Greyhound Walks Show.
After much deliberation as to what we could
offer the discerning greyhound owner, we
decided that it would be nice to have a
selection of quality greyhound cards,
plaques and hanging signs.
We approached Dianne Heap, an artist who
lives in Devon who has supported Castledon
in the past, and she kindly agreed to supply
us some of her work at a reduced price.
Everyone who came to the stall seemed very
impressed with what we were selling and we
actually made a profit of £100 for Castledon.
It
was lovely to see so many greyhounds and
their owners all in one place having a great
time.
Thanks must go to Bill and Jo, who helped on
the stall and also brought along their 2
Castledon hounds, Holly and Roscoe (aka.
Lucky)
And a very big thank
you to Dianne for her continuing support to
Castledon, which is very much appreciated.
You can check out her range of
greyhound-related artwork at
www.stores.ebay.co.uk/designertribe
We do have some stock left, so if anyone is
visiting us at any time, please ask to have
a look!
Finally, on behalf of greyhounds everywhere,
thank you to Janet Peacock (Greyhound Walks)
for all of her and her teams’ hard work in
arranging the show.

Castledon
were at the Pets at Home store in Southend on
Sunday 23rd December doing a 'Meet & Greet' with
Bully & Bella. We had lots of interest from the
public, with quite a few people saying they will
be getting intouch with us with a view to
rehoming a Greyhound. Bully & Bella showed
everyone what lovely, gentle, loving dogs
Greyhounds are.
The local newspaper turned up & took a picture
of Bully with a two year old girl strok ing
him - so more publicity for Greyhounds as pets,
which is always welcomed.
Bully worked so hard all day doing his PR bit,
that as soon as he got in the car for the
journey back to the kennels, he was sound
asleep!!
Thankyou to Tricia & Nick who came along to see
us with their two Greyhounds, Buddy & Isis (rehomed
from Castledon) armed with homemade liver cake
for the hounds - Bully & Bella loved it!

Castledon's Fundraising & Awareness Evening
at Blake House Craft Centre
 |
On Monday 26th November Castledon were at Blake
House Craft Centre's late night christmas
shopping evening. We had a Tombola & Auction,
amongst other things to raise money for the
Rescue & to raise awareness of what great pets
Greyhounds make.
We took the lovely Bella & Bully with us to meet
the public - they did a fine job of showing what
a lovely, gentle, affectionate breed Greyhounds
are - everyone loved them! |
